We kicked off - just in time for Fete de la Musique - with our Opening at the House of Music on the RAW-Area, co-hosted by Resident Advisor.

The screening of "Crip Camp – A Disability Revolution" was setting the perfect mood for what came afterwards: "We understood at that time that the disabled young people were not the problem, but we were the problem - we, the non-disabled, our ideas about disability".
The following panel brought together local and international community activists sharing insights into their work, to discuss principles of inclusion and diversity, and collectively develop perspectives for an inclusive subcultural industry.
Meanwhile, those who didn't like to sit still, could try out drum machines, synthesizers and other music production machines in the open studio, which was hosted by the artists of our in-house inclusive collective Ick Mach Welle. The outside area was providing the perfect atmosphere to meet new people, discuss and network on the background of topics the audience was just been witness to.
And since a Krake Opening without a concert wouldn’t be Krake, we rounded off the day with a performance by the Belgian combo Choolers Division - mumble rap meets experimental electronics - and a live performance by Bläck Dävil, whose Schnäll Schnäll EP is being released on KILLEKILL in July.

We couldn`t be happier with what already happened at the first day of KRAKE and this was only just the beginning. So many happy faces, interesting talks and the chance to meet new people while summer was in his most beautiest mood. Big thanks to everyone who came around and see you next year !
