KILLEKILL PODCAST #16: MARK ARCHER (recorded live at Suicide Circus on july, 27th, 2013)

Enjoy this set of a legend recorded at a killer night at Suicide Circus – the floor was screaming!
Anyway, as far as rave legends go, you won’t find many higher up the list than Mark Archer. Founding member of Bizarre Inc, one half of Nexus 21 and Altern8, and also recorded solo under a plethora of monikers such as DJ Nex, Trackman, Mark II, and Slo Moshun… Mark is quite simply one of the most important and influential dance music producers of the last two decades.
Still writing and DJing out across the globe, everything from jacking acid, classic techno, funk, hardcore, hip-hop, and of course his most notorious speciality genre: Old Skool Rave – Mark Archer is a resident at London’s I Love Acid, and also a regular guest at top music events such as Bangface, BLOC Weekend, Sonar Festival, Fantazia, and many more…www.facebook.com/markaaronarcher www.discogs.com/artist/Mark+Archer

KILLEKILL PODCAST #15: WAWASHI DEEJAY (HARD TON) – STOP IMPERIALIST POP

Soon coming on Killekill House Trax will be the outstanding 12″ „Rise up“ By HARD TON. Not our average cup of tea, but we fckng love it! To give you a first smell of what they are about, their DJ WAWASHI produced this podcast for us, which displays their widespread musical taste and their unique approach to pop in a non-mainstream way. Enjoy!
And instead of boring you to death with just another info text, we copy these words I-D Magazine about HARD TON:
HARD TON are the italian duo with the larger than life disco sound and a surprising love of metal. Fused together in 2008 from the musical loins of DJ Wawashi and heavy metal singer Max. Sylvester-styled falsettos conjure up memories of smoky dancefloors during the heady days of HI-NRG, which combined with a contemporary sound of accelerated beats and screaming acid basslines, shows a nod to the past can result in a slap across the face for the present. Using analogue and vintage gear, from the 303, 606, 707, Oberheim DMX, Korg Monopoly, MS20, Prophet V5, the music is as organic as synthetic music can be, their equipment living and dying by its own unpredictable rules. KILLEKILL PODCAST #14: EOMAC

With this podcast we introduce Dubliner Ian McDonnell alias EOMAC to you, who also delivers our upcoming record KILLEKILL 012 which will be released in early April, 2013.
Ian is one half of LAKKER, who also released on Killekill (as well as on blueprint and many other labels), but also with his solo productions he has proven himself as one producer to watch. His sound design is extreme and unique. He creates dense atmospheres and fills them with subtle melodic elements, pushes them forward with heavy basslines and markable, definitely unconventional drum programming.
With club play by no less than Aphex Twin amongst others, EOMAC is a name that is on the verge of exploding onto the scene.
SPOOCK, his release for our label displays the wide range of styles EOMAC can combine, and so does this dj mix. Tune in and enjoy!

KILLEKILL PODCAST #13: J.T.C.

Next podcast in our series comes from one of our personal favourites.

Tadd Mullinix aka JAMES T. COTTON aka J.T.C. is one of our true heroes. When we had our hands on the first records of his on Spectral we immediately fell in love with his daring approach to club music. Raw sketches of great ideas – not clean, not cool, but human and deficient, singular and alive. So, signing this artist for our label is a great honour to us, and we are proud that besides presenting the eclectic SONIC CRIMINAL 12″ to you, we can also provide you with this amazing podcast of his.
J.T.C. released 3 albums and several 12”es on labels such as: Spectral, Nation, Creme Organization, Shaddock, M>O>S and many more. As DABRYE he released on Ghostly International and Good Boy records and as SK-1 on Rephlex, Rewind and Planet μ.
Tadd Mullinix is also involved in the following projects: 2 AM/FM, The Saturn V, X2 and many more.
Tadd Mullinix, when not producing hip hop as Dabrye, has been leading the way for a new wave of jackin‘ house, acid house, techno and electro under the aliases James T. Cotton and JTC. Recording for Spectral, TNT, Nation, Creme Organization, Udek, Frigio, M>O>S, Minimal Rome, Frigio, and Relief, collaborating with Todd Osborn, D’marc Cantu and Traxx, and having remixed Orgue Electronique and Depeche Mode – he has received critical acclaim for his raw productions from influentials like Laurent Garnier, Traxx, and Trevor Jackson. And his records have been in rotation thanks to respected DJs like Theo Parrish, Sven Väth, Traxx, Carlos Souffront, Ryan Elliot, Ben Sims, Mick Wills, Serge, and DJ Qu. He’s been DJing professionally since the mid-90s, meanwhile drawing influences from Ron Hardy to Jeff Mills. JTC has been touring the world and also playing regularly in his hometown, Ann Arbor, blending seamlessly, unreleased toriginals, techno, disco, and everything in-between.
In 2010, at the University Of Michigan, Tadd performed with Laura Kuhn, director of the John Cage Trust, Cage’s „Indeterminacy“.

KILLEKILL PODCAST#11: LAKKER

LAKKER are a duo from Dublin, consisting of Ian McDonnell (aka EOMAC) and Dara Smith.

We consider them spectacular with their unique sound design and their refusal to limitate themselves to any genre or style. Their tracks are being released on Killekill, Blueprint and others and played by the likes of Aphex Twin and Surgeon. With this podcast they display their dj abilities – open minded, versatile, but still to the point!

Hanno Hinkelbein

KILLEKILL PODCAST #10: HANNO HINKELBEIN

HANNO HINKELBEIN has been an essential part of the whole Killekill thing right from the start – a good mate with a great taste in music.

So here is one of his mixes finally!

Hard stompin, raw and energetic – this is Hanno in full effect. Check it out! liner notes:

HANNO HINKELBEIN released a lot of records, used to run the legendary noise techno label NULL and is a proud owner of a golden record for a remix he made for 2Raumwohnung. Seriously!

KILLEKILL PODCAST #09: RADIOACTIVE MAN

Nothing stops this train mix for Killekill ..

Keith Tenniswood a.k.a. RADIOACTIVE MAN is one of our closest friends in music. So asking him for a podcast was a thing that had to happen sooner or later. The man who formerly was one half of the legendry Two Lone Swordsmen is still one of our favourite artists. Especially his album that he released recently on Wang Trax showed his skills in machine funk and melancholy.
So, here we go with this full on driving electro mix featuring some fine pearls of this genre, classics (such as the Burrito Boys or Advent) as well as unreleased material (such as his own track to be released on the KILLEKILL 010 compilation).

Break it down!

KILLEKILL PODCAST #07: AFFIE YUSUF

Meeting AFFIE YUSUF for the first time via internet was like meeting an old friend. A sympathy for the devil was our common sense and after hearing some of his unreleased music it was obvious we needed to get closer. To enlighten your waiting time for his first releases on KILLEKILL he has screwed up a dj mix for you full with weird stuff and raw energy.
The way we like it!
